Molson Cold Shots defeated KC Blades 5-2 in a battle between 2 equally matched teams to win their second consecutive SMGHL Championship.
Cold Shots held a 2-1 lead after a penalty-filled first period and broke a 2-2 tie with 6 minutes left on a tip-in before adding a clincher 3 minutes later to beat the Blades. The final was no different than several close regular season games and a round robin tie between these long-time rivals.
